Gothenburg Sweden the 18th of September 2008
This day we write in English for my very nice new friends in the city Picton, Ontario Canada Stan and his wife Phyllis Hicks you can see on the lower picture up here as the lost picture that was taken of them with the Buick Electra 225 1959. This nice couple did have the car for 22 years
In beginning of July my friends from city Vilhelmina Sweden Anders Yngersten and his wife Ulrica Eriksson contact me to help them buy what they have found on an internetpage.
I contact Stan and he sent pictures and information and after a couple of emails and a couple of phone calls we had an agreement and money was sent.
23 July money for car was in Picton and Stan started to make his lovely Buick ready for the long lonely trip to Sweden, in the trunk he put a plastic big box with all parts, boks, lams, for this car the box was full of very good things se picture. Couple in Sweden gets very happy about it
4th of August the car was picked up buy a truck and this truck took the car up to Montreal a distance of 226 miles (363 kilometer) then car was louded into a 20 foot long container and loaded on the train
with the train it did travel to Canada far east city Halifax 770 miles (1241 kilometer).
Then container and car loads on a ship and travel to gothenburg it is 3775 miles (6074 kilometer)
17th of September it was unloaded from container and cleared in to Sweden true customs now it is waithing registration and different small problem to make this beaty street legal in Sweden
18th of September 2 hours ago Anders and Ulrika started their trip up to north of Sweden They was very very happy after they inspected and make the test drive. Look on picture up here. They really love their new Buick 1959 so in this moment they drive from Gothenburg in south of Sweden to Vilhelmina in north of Sweden it is a trip of 668 miles (1074 kilometer) and they will just stop to fill gasoline and eat. Push the horn if you see them on the road
Big thanks to this very nice couple Stan and Phyllis! You have really taking care of this Buick and it is very clean and shiny transport was totally ok and all parts in trunk was there including fenderskirts.
Inside the container after the trip on road, train and boat it was no oil, water or other problems. Car was in perfect hands lost 22 years and it still are.
And Stan and Phyllis if you ever come to Sweden contact us and I will make sure that you have your Buick 1959 to drive.
